Base Layer Optimization

IPCOSAptitude helps you to get the maximum out of your primary control system (DCS/PLC). Optimizing a DCS/PLC will bring stability to your plant and prepare the plant for implementation of Advanced Process Control. Some of the activities that we undertake are: 

  • Major review and optimization of existing controls. Check what control structures are implemented and how the controllers are tuned. Our engineers will retune the controllers if needed.
  • Tuning of controls and optimization of control structures. Design better control structures in the DCS and bring them online.
  • Tune interactive PID loops using IPCOSAptitude's Multivariable PID tuning software called AptiTune.
  • Instrumentation/actuators review. Very often the cause of many stability and control problems. Our engineers find the troublemakers in your plant.
  • Advanced maintenance services on base layer controls. Once the DCS controls are optimized they have to stay optimized. Since a plant is a living thing, a regular check and optimization session will be conducted at site.
  • On-site, customised training courses on base layer controls and PID tuning.
